Political Campaigns Use Hyper-Local Targeted Mobile Signup Ads to Reach Voters in Swing States and Across the Nation

Pontiflex Data Reveals the Average Cost for a Signup in Swing States Ranges From $0.85 to $3.84

According to MediaVest, political spending in 2012 will increase by as much as 30 percent from 2008 to reach $4 billion. This year, political candidates will continue to use digital advertising with performance-based pricing models, such as Cost-Per-Click (CPC) and Cost-Per-Lead (CPL). According to ClickZ, President Obama’s reelection campaign will devote a large portion of ad spending to digital ads, including mobile. The Obama Presidential Campaign has spent $19 million on digital ads since the beginning of the political season. In addition, Zac Moffatt, Mitt Romney’s Digital Director, recognized the potential power that mobile advertising has when he said, “If we don’t hit them on their mobile phones, we’re missing a huge opportunity for people who are voters.”

Unity Awards Open Nominations Begin

Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, have opened up public nominations for the annual Unity Awards.

The Unity Awards, first celebrated in 2008, recognize the most outstanding examples of games, simulations, visualizations and other projects created using the Unity development platform across a variety of categories. Winners will be revealed in front of the Unity community during a ceremony at Unite 12 in Amsterdam on August 23rd.

Unity Technologies Opens Shanghai Office With New Strategic Partnership Engagements

Unity Technologies demonstrated their commitment to the Chinese development community by announcing a new office in Shanghai and business agreements with Chinese technology companies China Cache and Qihoo 360.

The opening of the Shanghai office represents the first of a series of strategic commitments from Unity Technologies to support the fast-growing number of Chinese developers adopting the Unity development platform. Along with being tasked with growing Unity’s mindshare in the world’s most populous nation, Unity Technologies China will also investigate specific needs of the area to provide excellent and highly targeted support.

Unity Reaches One Million Registered Developers

Unity engine and tools now has over 1 million registered developers and over 6 million total downloads.

The monthly active developer base has also grown to nearly 300,000, or 30% of all developers who ever registered with Unity, who put in a total of 2.5 million hours of creative work in the last month. According to statistics recorded by Evans Data in their Developer Population and Demographic Study 2011 v. 2, this means nearly 2% of the over 16 million active worldwide software developers (of any kind) are currently using Unity to develop their projects.
