Unity Working with BlackBerry to Create Deployment Add-on for BlackBerry 10

BlackBerry and Unity Technologies today announced that they are working together to create a Unity deployment add-on product for BlackBerry® 10 smartphones, empowering Unity’s over 1.5 million strong developer community to publish their games on these powerful platforms.

BlackBerry 10 will now be one of the premiere mobile platforms supported by the market-leading Unity Engine. The deployment tool is currently in development by Unity Technologies and BlackBerry, and will be released as an add-on option for Unity.

Unite 2013 in Vancouver, Regional Unite Conferences Announced

Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, is happy to announce that Unite 2013, its seventh annual developer conference, will be held from August 28 – 30, 2013 at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, Canada. Additionally, region specific Unite conferences will be held in 2013 with the potential for more to be added later in the year.

Unite 2013 is an event for developers, publishers, enthusiasts and others interested in Unity to come together to learn more about the market-leading platform for creating high quality video games, training simulations, medical and architectural visualizations and other 3D interactive content — and how to get the most out of it. Unity Technologies and DeNA/Ngmoco Collaborating on The Drowning

Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, and DeNA Co., Ltd. announced a collaboration to boost Unity’s technology and create a game that pushes the bounds of mobile graphics capabilities. The two companies are working together to implement cutting edge mobile technology in DeNA’s upcoming first-person shooter game The Drowning.

Unity Technologies engineers worked closely with developers at DeNA’s Scattered Entertainment studio in Stockholm, Sweden for hands on technical support during the production of The Drowning to allow DeNA to leverage the technology in new ways and use those findings to benefit the nearly 1.5 million developers that constitute the worldwide Unity community.

Unity 4.0 Launches

The first in a series of updates for Unity 4, this version includes significant additions such as DirectX 11 support and Mecanim animation tools. In addition users will have access to a Linux deployment preview and the Adobe® Flash® Player deployment add-on.
