Unity Pro MS&T Bundle Unveiled

Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform game engine and development tools, announced the Unity Pro MS&T Bundle.

Unity, an intuitive and powerful engine and toolset for interactive 3D development, has been used to create thousands of games for entertainment along with an ever-increasing number of serious games, computer based training, distributed learning, virtual worlds, data visualization, interactive multimedia instruction, virtual medical training and task management training applications. The Unity Pro MS&T Bundle was designed for the significant number of development studios outside of the entertainment sector, many of which are specifically devoted to simulation and training programs.

Unite 12 Session Update, Sponsors Announced, Awards Nominees Announced

Today Unity Technologies released additional training day, session, and sponsor information for Unite 2012 and announced the finalists for the 2012 Unity Awards.

Unite 2012, held in Amsterdam from August 22-24, will feature over 40 hours of informational sessions and workshops. The Unity Technologies website now includes updated information about sessions and this year’s sponsors which include Allegorithmic, Applifier, Autodesk, Adobe, Exit Games, Gree, Intel, Luxology, Mixamo and Face FX, Nvidia, OmniMotion Technology LTD, Playhaven, Qualcomm, SoftLayer, Sony, and Vostopia. Each sponsor will be on hand to provide information and hold sessions designed to teach attendees about the best use of their tools and technology with Unity.

Unity Powers NASA Virtual Mars Rover Experience

NASA’s virtual Mars rover experience was developed with Unity. It will debut online via the Unity Web Player in conjunction with the landing of the most advanced rover ever sent to Mars. 

Martian fans can help NASA test drive a new 3D interactive experience that will allow the public to follow along with Curiosity’s discoveries on Mars. Using Unity, NASA is pushing new limits by rendering high-resolution terrain maps of Gale Crater, Curiosity’s landing site, collected from Mars orbiters. A 3D “virtual rover” version of Curiosity will follow the path of the real rover as it makes discoveries.

Unity Wins Best Engine at Develop Awards, Recognized by AlwaysOn Global 250 and OnMobile Top 100

Unity was awarded top honors in the Best Engine category at the 2012 Develop Awards and was recently chosen by AlwaysOn as a winner for both the AlwaysOn Global 250 and OnMobile Top 100.

Peter Molyneux to Keynote at Unite 2012 in Amsterdam, Sessions Schedule Announced

Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, is excited to announce that veteran video games designer Peter Molyneux, member of the AIAS Hall of Fame and winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards, will be headlining the keynote presentation at the Unite 2012 conference in Amsterdam on August 22nd.

Unity Technologies, provider of the Unity multi-platform engine and development tools, have opened up public nominations for the annual Unity Awards.

The Unity Awards, first celebrated in 2008, recognize the most outstanding examples of games, simulations, visualizations and other projects created using the Unity development platform across a variety of categories. Winners will be revealed in front of the Unity community during a ceremony at Unite 12 in Amsterdam on August 23rd.

Unity Technologies Opens Shanghai Office With New Strategic Partnership Engagements

Unity Technologies demonstrated their commitment to the Chinese development community by announcing a new office in Shanghai and business agreements with Chinese technology companies China Cache and Qihoo 360.

The opening of the Shanghai office represents the first of a series of strategic commitments from Unity Technologies to support the fast-growing number of Chinese developers adopting the Unity development platform. Along with being tasked with growing Unity’s mindshare in the world’s most populous nation, Unity Technologies China will also investigate specific needs of the area to provide excellent and highly targeted support.

Unity Reaches One Million Registered Developers

Unity engine and tools now has over 1 million registered developers and over 6 million total downloads.

The monthly active developer base has also grown to nearly 300,000, or 30% of all developers who ever registered with Unity, who put in a total of 2.5 million hours of creative work in the last month. According to statistics recorded by Evans Data in their Developer Population and Demographic Study 2011 v. 2, this means nearly 2% of the over 16 million active worldwide software developers (of any kind) are currently using Unity to develop their projects.
